Viparspectra 165w

Yes. It doesn’t matter what you are trying to grow.

You actually will start with it turned way down to let an established acclimate to them

Now whether or not it’s the right coloration is for you to decide

I recommend a single 300w version of that light. 32” wide I think. One will cover the tank. I used a Mars Aqua 300w on a 75 with same dimensions and it grew everything just fine

I am thinking of going overkill on mine for coverage, but have other expenses and things to work on first!

I would probably build some sort of hush-box for them though.

One may be enough for a 75 and softies. I've been playing around with mine the past few days. This is set at 30 blue/15 white on a 180. It's blasting a 4x2 area. I think I can do 2 for low end lps.

Tag me when you check Par?
with the lights over my 240 set at 38% blue & 6% white i have 90-100 par on the floor of a 24" deep tank, with the light mounted 11" from the surface. with it at 85% blue & 40% white i get 260-280 par on the floor. those lights will torch softy's quick if you start out to high. around 18% blue & 3% white should give you around 50-60 par on the bottom of the 75 gallon & around 120-140 par in the 12"-15" up from the bottom range

Yes!! That is the real world info I keep searching for!

That doesn’t come from the manufacturer.

Am I right I’m thinking that the softies I start with, they can be moved to a spot with indirect light if I decided on some stonies or something down the road?

I’m on info overload and ask cause I may have my memory banks a little cross wired...

12 inches above 18 inches of water with a 165w vipar spectra I have my settings at 10% white and 20% Blues. I get 200 par in the middle and 100 on the edges at bottom. With a 300w viparspectra 12 inches over 40 gallon breeder 8% whites 22% blues I get 200 at sand bed in the middle and 150 at edges. On my rock work I get as high as 285 Par under the light. as measured with a 510 apogee par meter.
