Viparspectra 165w

Given the comparison with other fixtures, they are right on par (forgive the pun) in longevity. Actually, since they are repairable if you are handy then they will outlast most fixtures.

Then take into the cost and you are way ahead of the game anyway.

2 of these enough for a 4’ long 18 wide and 21” deep tank? 75 gallon.
Yes 2 is enough. I had 2 on my 90 sps/lps mix tank and everything done great. A ton of growth. I was actually surprised in these lights. Attaching picture

Yes!! That is the real world info I keep searching for!

That doesn’t come from the manufacturer.

Am I right I’m thinking that the softies I start with, they can be moved to a spot with indirect light if I decided on some stonies or something down the road?

I’m on info overload and ask cause I may have my memory banks a little cross wired...
i'm probably not the best to answer that i have mostly lps with a few encrusting sps but those lights don't drop off very fast from top to bottom, & i don't have any softy's so i cant really say as i have never done it.

I have 3 on a 220g. No idea on par unfortunately but I have mine at like 95% blues and 4% whites, 8 inches above a 31 inch deep tank. Grows acropora, nems, bubbles, mushrooms, etc etc etc.

Sounding like these will be my buy.
Pretty user friendly it seems.

Anything else I should have in conjunction with them to make my life easier?

Thank you everyone for the replies this far.

It is also fairly easy to wire them into Apex VDM & set a sunrise/sunset schedule & have the controller power off - if I recall correctly they do not dim below 10% so that would need to be your start/end points for the ramp up/down schedule.

Just keep in mind. They don't dim. It's just on and off for blue on a timer then on and off for white on a timer. If that works then you can't go wrong.

I stand corrected. Didn't know you could wire them to an apex. you tube video?

I have mine set on blue on an hour before white then hour after white. I was thinking about using a ramp timer.

I’m okay without a ramp, start with.

I know we are trying to mimick a real reef as much as possible, but I figure we are still messing with Aquariums.

You really can't go wrong for $225 for 2. I love the design of kessil but I just think the pricing on reef lights is absolutely insane. Sb reef is very good quality for the price as well.

These are 2 set at 30/15 18" above the tank. These things are a lot more intense than the auto settings on my phone pic lets on. Im still working on the tank

I have heard most don't dim reliable past 10%. I have noticed a visible difference in light below 10% to verify it does dim still but have not verified if there is any fluctuation below 10%.

Now why did you post that nonsense? Lol

You really cant beat the price vs quality.

just illustrating that you can get good deals if you look. now it all depends what you consider a good deal, but this would light a tank for $200.

That was a joke. Im tempted to buy another set for that price. I appreciate the link.
