Just curious to know from any dosers... What is your tank size and what set dose have you landed on?

this will depend on so many factors: actual water volume after displacement, nitrate removal methods (and amount of them) such as skimmers, chaeto, turf scrubbers, deep sand bed, etc, and bio load (fish and coral load)

I dose vinegar instead of vodka. In my case, he exact dose isn't critical, and I've dosed a wide range, from 20-400+ mL per day (410 mL epr day was clearly too much). Currently I dose about 140 mL per day (IIRC), but may drop back to about 75 mL a day since I raised it as an experiment and saw no significant benefit.

My tank is a 120 display with about 300 gallons total system volume.

ok well next question.... I added 100lbs of new dry base rock... Nitrates sky rocketed to 100 according to a new Salifert Nitrates test.
I did a 35 gal water change and it dropped to about 70 or so, i hate looking at colors to tell.
Anyway i currently have been dosing 6ml. Do you think i can jump to 10ml and see if it has any effect?
150 Gal with a RS200 Sump, with the rock in there not sure how much water displacement there is but i calculate about 200lbs total rock.
3 medium-large fish 7 small fish

approximately 2-3 months, maybe skipped a few days here and there.
Phophates tested at .25 ppm

I have a 360 gal display plus 40 gal sump. I have been dosing for just over 35 days and I am up to 9 ml vodka per day, and have done two 35 gal water changes and still testing at 64 ppm with red sea pro test.

45 gallon total water volume. Dosing for about a year. 7ml daily. was higher, but had a serious bacterial bloom a few weeks ago.

120g, I dose between 12 and 24ml vodka/day.

50 gal tv. 12×12 fuge with a 4" sandbed growing chaeto, grape caulerpa, sawblade caulerpa, sm codium and a couple red algaes. Sca-301 skimmer. And I dose 1ml a day. Was up to 3ml when nitrates fell.

Oh yeah. That dang kenya tree grows so fast I started throwing the fallen branchs down there too. So that too. Lol

dont think it matters but curious to know... where do you throw the vodka into?
I squirt into the return section of my sump so it spits directly into the tank from there.
No Fuge in my tank

+1 ^

Meaning in the return section. Didn't wanna put it in the fuge and steal nutrients directly from the natural filter.

Well since i run a skimmer should i put it into the skimmer section?

I would think not. The skimmer picks out the bacteria that the vodka grows. The vodka is going to travel. So I don't know if it really matters. Can vodka itself be skimmed. Ghat would be your answer as you want it to remain in the system until bacteria grow

180g 3/4 capfuls of Smirnoff twice a day into the main display. Also dose Microbacter7 in conjunction. Been doing it for years now.
