Vortech enough movement?

Thanks, you can show your tank?

I think @G8trBait16's post makes a good point of reference.

I imagine two mp40's on a 48" tank seems like a lot to some folks...but it's not, it's just right. Isn't that positive? I hope there's no requirement for me to glow when I mention Ecotech. ;)

Like just about any other gear, there's nothing wrong with them in the correct use, unless maybe you want to complain about price. That's more of a personal thing than a performance thing.

BTW, if you look at comparative measurements of vortech's flow, they move water slowly compared to most of the Tunze pumps we think about. As a result Vortech's just don't have a lot of reach by comparison.

Thank you all for the comments and recommendations.

I already bought and installed another MP40QD in my tank, now then I have one on each side of the tank and the sand has already been cleaned up a lot, definitely if I needed movement.

Now, I use Reeflink and hereby made the synchronization with the other pump for 24 hours. And I'm not sure if this is the right way to get the best water movement?

How do you use? Which way do you prefer?

I share my daily settings for their recommendations.

The recommendation is to use mode and synchronization or have one in master and another slave, depends on the type of corals and taste of each, but as you can see my settings and how do you use?

I would have one in master and one in slave day-to-day. I there's a random storm mode where you can "turn up the volume" one a week or once a month (whatever....random storms) then do that too. :)

And above all experiment until you find something better!! :)

I understand, the master and slave mode must be in physical form in the driver or that can be done in the reeflink?

You have them in master and slave is not the same as synchronized?

Sounds like they may have more than one correct answer… If so you may need to refer to the manual.

I have already asked and I really is not very clear.

Because it would be interesting a way that makes it work alternately with a period of oscillation between each, to create a movement in both directions and no currents are facing.

I would think Master Slave implies that and synchronized would imply something different...but I dunno. Lemme look too.

If this is your manual:

Yeah, master/salve is the network relationship between different Vortech pumps. Not what we're talking bout.

Sync/Anti-sync is as close as you get to what we're talking about.

You might simply have to have them on appliance timers and they can run whatever program they're set to for the hours they are on. Then the timers switch the controllers. Should work, even if it seems silly. (Pre-programmed computers are good and bad like anything else.)

No, that's not the manual I've seen and downloaded from the page. Now at night I give it a read.

Thank you very much

I found the new one:

Still similar I think.

Seems like maybe TSM or long pulse mode, in anti-sync, might work.

Others might have more suggestions though....I'm not familiar with the new modes outside of the manual descriptions and graphics.

I can only add that if you keep two vortechs (vs going with a third) I'd be wary of the modes that spin down the motors too much/too frequently. With two mp40's, they will need to be on-and-blasting when they are on. Three would give you the headroom to run about any mode without worry, I think. (They even mention this under the NTM description.) (Too many acronyms! :p)
