I noticed last night my MP 10 wasn't spinning any more and that the controller keeps cycling through all the lights. Tried unplugging it for awhile and resetting but still doing it. Anyone seen this before or have a solution?

Not those particular issues, but my MP20 just started going downhill the last couple weeks. The driver wont cycle through all of the settings anymore, it just remains on Green(manual mode I believe.) I also can no longer adjust the flow, it just remains on the lowest setting. I figured it was a driver issue so I purchased a slightly used driver and wire assembly from a member here in classifieds, and same issue. The unit is about a year and a half old...Sending it in tomorrow.

I would say it is time to take the wet side apart and clean it. I think you can find a YouTube video on how to take it apart. Mine did that and it ended up being that I needed to replace the whole wet side because the housing had broken and the magnet melted to the housing.

Hope this helps.

+1 mine started to do the same thing. Luckily I just had to break mine down and give a 24hr vinigar bath. Worked like new afterwards. Try a simple cleaning before u go spending money. The ceramic bearing and the drive shaft (I think that's what they call it) may have seized together which has happened to me also.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll try cleaning the wetside. If that doesn't fix it, it a be the first and last vortech I ever own.

I wouldn't give up on them if something is wrong. Contact their customer support and see if they would be willing to do anything about it. They are great people and the worst they can say is no. I have two mp40's and neither are in warranty. I have called and they have treated me like I have invested millions into their company. Just a thought.

When you get the Ferrari of pumps you have to baby it because it's a beast of a machine. Take care of it and it can be one of the best things for your tank. :) don't give up on them.

Get in touch with their customer service. They will take care of you.

+1 just take care of them and they will last forever. I have 2 spare wet sides for mine so once a month I swap them out and give the ones that were in use a 24hr vinegar bath. After a good cleaning they work like new again.

I had a similar issue with my MP10. Called customer service and the issue was resolved. I will say however that since the issue, I have been soaking the wetside in a 50/50 vinegar / hot water bath for 10-15 minutes every week when I do a WC. This is simply to keep any calcium deposits from taking up residence.

The problem I had was calcium and detritus build up from not taking apart the wetside often enough for a full cleaning and the ceramic coating on the shaft began to crack as I was taking it apart. Ecotech stepped up to the plate with outstanding CS and took care of it for me and I was back in business within 5 days.

This is kinda my problem with them. Sound like they need a lot of maintenance. Maybe that's just the little one but I've only cleaned my tunze once in 3 years and its still running....

Really? My experiences with their customer service have always been top notch. When I had a problem with one of my MP40s, the sent me a free wetside rebuild kit and when that didn't do it, they sent me a shipping label to send in the wetside. Within a week I had a brand new wetside and no problems since.

Theres been no talk of helping. Started off with cant be our fault, and now its been a series of hmm thats odd. Have you tried plugging it in type of responses. Lame.

Well if you want I'll pay shipping and you can mail it to me. :) then you won't have to worry about it anymore.

Lol. That 200 is the killer:) I would if I needed one though. I'm sorry they are giving you a hassle. I didn't have that problem at all when I called.

After talking to them on the phone a few days ago, I can second the customer service being a little sub par. Sort of a pompous air of " its the end users fault" instead of " youre a valuable customer, you threw down good $ on our product, so send in your pump and well take care of you." Ill be sending in my mp20 (that is still having issues with two seperate drivers and wire assemblies) to have it assessed, but Ill be trying a different manufacturer this next round instead of going w mp40s like i initially planned. Got some research to do now.Maybe Tunze.
