Waitei Anthias

I was thinking about getting 5 for my 100g to pair with Yellow Assessors and what not. Now that I removed my Resplendent Anthia I'm in search for a cool even more peaceful anthia.

Has anyone tried a peaceful tank with some Waitei Anthias?

Will the Waitei Anthias just pick each other off like chromis?

I didn't want to use Liveaquaria's picture but it looks more like on their site. Actually there's two different kinds but probably look act the same. Luzonichthys whitleyi and Luzonichthys waitei

They are more peaceful than resplendent, but also a little more delicate.

Missed this sorry !!

Well I had an opportunity long back to get a trio of these and as TJ mentioned took well to feeding cyclopzee and nutramar ova .

Lost them to uronema as I hardly knew that time what was the disease .

They are definitely easier than purple queens , loris and princess .

I would try to keep the light levels a little low when introducing if possible and may be a little colder water .

You know how all the write ups on fish say they prefer to be in groups, well do these guys just pick each other off like other Anthia?

Honestly I wouldn’t think so . I always prefer to buy in quantities as some might perish in qt for me . In my limited experience , if you buy smaller ones and let them play out the alpha make , these are quite peaceful than the larger easier to keep cousins

IME red saddle and resplendent are comparably aggressive.

okay I got the following
(3) Waitei Anthias
(1) Princess Anthias (Pseudanthias smithvanizi)

The Princess is out all the time.
The Waitei are just starting to come out

I've been feeding them Reef Nutrition Artic Pods. All of them are eating [emoji2956][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

Are Princesses Anthia more friendly than Resplendent Anthia? [emoji848]

Princess anthias are closely related to red saddles so Id say, from what eat breakfast has said that they'd be similair to resplendents in agression

In my experience smithvenezi proved to be a little more aggressive than resplendent.

Darn whish I didn't buy her. At least the Princess is better looking than the Resplendent.

Will the Princess and the Waitei ultimately not work due to the Princess?

Maybe/maybe not. I had a group of princess anthias that killed a group of parvirostrus and red saddled, then killed each other. But I have also had them be rather timid. Just keep an eye on the interactions.

This Anthia has acted different from the Princess and the Waitei. It's stayed at the top the whole time. He's eating which is the good thing.

It has a nice yellow head and yellow line on the dorsal. Hmmm which Anthia does this look like? See 2nd pic reflection showing the yellow.
