Water pressure question

If you go with a Booster pump, I would definitely get one that has a tank. Some of our Remote Sites, had them on City Water, where their wasn’t enough pressure to fill a toilet tank. They used the tank for a longer pump life. Be aware there are ones for drinking water, and ones that are not, drinking water safe. I think ours were either BURCAM, or Superior Brand. Fun Sites were the ones with No Water, and I had to clean AC Coils.

got the BRS booster pump hooked up tonight.... only reading 5psi.... un hooked the auto shut off valve and the psi went to 25. so im going to take one wild guess the shut off valve is also clogged. but even it running with out it I still should have more pressure coming out than what I have. ill mess with it more tomorrow, its time to have beer and wash away my misery

That's the video I followed to set it up. I need to mess with you more after work

Guess I should have read this before I hit send while driving. I dont want to mess with you, sorry to hurt your feelings :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Well got the booster pump and the new stage 7 plus from BRS today.... still only at about 25psi with the booster maxed out. I did check the pressure before the booster and I only get 18psi, so im assuming this is why I cant get any higher with the pump.

Yup. A booster pump has a minimum psi that it needs to run. Not sure what your pumps minimum is.
Did you ever get your plumber friend over?

That is the static pressure to the pump?

18 was under the sink on the second floor. I have 35 on an outside water spigot. We aren't happy and have been told pie only option is a whole house booster which is going to cost us about 3 grand.

Can you put your RODI unit in the basement where you have 35psi

WOW! Three grand is way too much. I can do it for you for less than $1000 if I was in the neighborhood. I am from Warwick R.I. and now live in Las Vegas. I have installed my own pressure booster pump for less than $1000 with all supplies. In the past seven years or so I went through a few pumps. If you fly me to Boston I will do it for you for the cost of the parts and maybe a car rental so I can visit family in R.I.

I have 40psi from the street and drops to 30 on high demand days, I now have up to 75psi for the whole house. Just be careful, check all your plumbing fixtures after the install. I had a hand held shower head explode in my hands and found the pressure crept up to 80-85psi. I love the high pressure.

Couple of things.
-You can buy a booster pump rated for two bathroom house for under 500. For a three bathroom house 8-900.
-Pressure change from one floor to the next is 4-5 psi. Something else is at play here.
