I haven't decided yet. There's a really good chance that I'm going with an AquaticLife 6 bulb fixture. I'll remove the 2 center bulbs to make room for the AP700.

I'll definitely document/video the process once I decide.

Some folks requested that I do an update once the new Radions were over the tank. So here you go. The story of why I switched lights, how they're hung and what happens next.

Great review and video once again

Can you please post the link to the radion lab study?

Also so you will not be adding t5 supplement? I feel it will just take this tank to the next level

Great review and looks awesome. I kind of wish Kessil would give a light program for their lights like this.

New month, new pictures, new video. So it goes.

Not a whole lot of changes. Added a couple more corals. I'm breaking down my two-part dosing and opting for a calcium reactor. In the long run I think it will be the better answer for the tank, even if it's massive overkill right now.

I'm also going to rework the plumbing a bit. Using dual Dursos, I'm still getting a lot of air bubble noise and I'd prefer to make it more quiet. I might go Bean Animal, even if I'm vehemently opposed to putting valves onto overflow lines. We'll see.

Dude, how long have you had those rocks....that is some impressive coraline coverage!

Well, hi there. It's been a while. Guess it's time for an update.

I had promised the wife that, before I upgraded tanks, we would rip out the carpet in our living room and lay new floor. But the deal was that if I laid floor, I wasn't setting up the 120 again. I was doing an upgrade. Fortunately she's understanding and patient...

So this happened.

Then today, this happened.

Planet Aquariums, 215 gallon. 72x24x30. I'm finishing up the stand tonight, and hopefully I'll make the flip over the next couple of days as time and assistance allows. Thanks to @mrsaltwatertank for arranging the new glass box :)

Awesome!

:eek::eek: So excited to see this installed!!

First the good news: After a long weekend, the floor got laid, the 120 got torn down and the new tank went up.

Yes, I know the lights are off center and crooked. This was right after I slid it into place. Leave me alone :P

Now the bad news - I was about 30 gallons short of getting the tank fully running last night, so I did what we all do - heaters in the tank, powerheads on, fill it in the morning. This is also where I should say that, during the move, the power supply to one of my MP40s got wet and fried so I was down to 1 powerhead.

I woke up this morning to dead fish. A lot of dead fish. It seems that, through the night, one of the rocks that I'd just tossed into the tank fell over and knocked the wet side of the MP40 down into the sand. So the tank went for about 6 hours with zero circulation or gas exchange. My flawless tank move had finally caught up with me. I lost 7 fish in all, including a naso, white tail tang, magnificent foxface and my two remaining anthias. Pretty much all of my SPS is toast. I have a couple of pieces that *might* make it, so I'm crossing fingers and praying for the best. All in all, a very tough lesson learned. I should have kept the livestock in the trough until I was 100% sure that the tank would be filled and running.

At any rate, I still have 5 chromis, a purple tang, 3 clowns, a pink spot goby and my mandarin. The tank is running happily, and clearing slowly, so things could definitely be worse.

Oh, and I also have a torn shoulder muscle thanks to this project, so the rock is just going to have to be a mess for a bit until I can actually lift anything with this arm.

Nice! Congrats to your wife on the floor and you on your tank! :)
