That REALLY sucks for you. ARGH!!!!!!

There is a store I just visited though about 40 minutes away from me that was so nice, had a bunch of seahorses all in their own tanks and they looked suuuuper healthy. Super pricy though, at least twice the cost as I paid at the other place. I might look into their ponies in the future if I ever decide to try to add another

FYI; the stringy white feces is caused by internal parasites. Curable by treating with metronidazole, or sometimes praziquantel.

I don't trust that store at all. All their fish appeared to have either internal parasites or have ich on them. It's a really run down store, don't think they should be doing saltwater. Won't be purchasing from them ever

I dislike stores like these there's one by me always has sick fishes. I go there just to get larrys and black worms

Trash fish, too bad because they have great markings but that's not a true nub

So for the longest time one of my local fish stores was strictly freshwater. they've been setting up their saltwater system for months now and finally got their first shipment in.

Curious to see what they got, my friend and I went over there today to find they had the WEIRDEST clownfish.

They were labeled "Nub Tail Clownfish" and were being sold for $80 per clown.

They didn't look 100% healthy - they had stringy white feces hanging from them. But nothing other visually wrong except their tails were, well, nubby. And that to me just didn't look right at all.

My question is, has anyone ever seen these around before? I searched everywhere online and couldn't find anything about them. I'm just curious where they came from.

What are y'alls opinions. Do you like them or think they don't look right?

Nub Tail Clownfish are not naturally occurring in the wild. They were bred my taking Clownfish with some physical deformities and breeding them until this particular morph was discovered. They're are fairly new too which is probably why you haven't really heard of them until now.

I haven't seen clowns like that before, but have seen similar deformities in other species of captive-bred fish. (You'll never see that in a wild-caught, a predator will have spotted it first and taken care of the problem.)

This is a deformity, straight up, and someone's trying to make a profit by slapping a fancy label on it. I wouldn't buy them for my tank, but if someone else does, I'd strongly recommend that they never be bred.
