Weird white particles covering everything on uncycled tank

simple points to ponder for this thread: not once in reefing, by simple measure and cheap experiment, has any person documented that this sand doesn't show up live or that rinsing it prior to use removes its ammonia processing ability if indeed there. hint for readers with an ammonia kit, liquid ammonia, a new bag of sand, a canister filter and nylon pouch for media and an empty ten gallon tank :)

so who is going to end twenty years of speculation and attain article gold with items as common as sunlight

don't settle for my or any other persons opinion, someone take the measure earn post gold we can write about it for a long time based on what you find

If at the end of the test one can show pre rinsing to remove clouding but not harm inherent filtration ability of wet pack sand, then rinsing or not is simply a choice to keep or exclude clouding potential above the sandbed. Whether or not sandbed bacteria matter at all is a debate not concerning to bare bottom practitioners but sandbed users consider them breakpoint important- that dichotomy is interesting
