What’s wrong with my elegance coral

It decided to start retracing again I am doing another fresh water dip right now

it's bad here too... it only opens with the light in the morning when the lights are off and when I turn it on it closes and only opens when I turn off the lights, I'm thinking about taking a dip again.
Thats how it goes. Up and down and struggles while suffering a slow death. Mine was like that for 3 months until it finally melted away.

As long as you don't see tentacles expandong and is just the inflated stubby meat expanding, then that's not really "opening up" and is still a ECS symptom and slow decline.
 
É assim que é. Para cima e para baixo e luta enquanto sofre uma morte lenta. O meu ficou assim por 3 meses até que finalmente derreteu.

Contanto que você não veja os tentáculos se expandindo e seja apenas a carne atarracada inflada se expandindo, então isso não é realmente "abertura" e ainda é um sintoma de ECS e declínio lento.
mine was swollen and squat just once a few days ago, nowadays it opens normally before the lights turn on but as always, it shrinks when the lights are turned on, and unfortunately it's losing color and becoming transparent but at least the tentacles are growing back and still sticky

Elegance corals require a moderately high amount of light to support photosynthesis. But that doesn’t translate to strong light. LEDs, fluorescent, or other reef-caliber lights will be sufficient. You want to aim for a PAR of about 80-120. Also important is water flow which should be moderate.
You don’t want the flow to be too hard or too soft. “Just right” means the tentacles flow gently, like leaves in a light wind. Too little and elegance corals will not thrive. Too much flow and you risk tearing the delicate polyps.
The proper flow brings nutrients to the polyps, ensuring they remain nourished. And you’ll see the typical “sweeping” movement as they drift in the current.
The elegance coral is photosynthetic, which means commensal photosynthetic algae called zooxanthellae that live inside its body tissue and provide nutrition by harvesting the energy in light – much like a house plant. They also benefit from regular feedings. with foods such as krill, Mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, or small pieces of fish, and shrimp.
Elegance corals ARE prone to elegance coral syndrome (ECS). If your coral has this disease, you’ll see swelling around the oral disc and unopened polyps or a white mucus coating.

This happened after a loose mushroom found it's way into the elegance mouth. After two days of brown stuff, it spit out the mushroom. Three days later, now stringy and white.

Yikes. Both mushrooms and leathers can release toxins which may have been the case. More irritating they are than deadly.
If this is the case, adding a pouch of chemipre blue or Elite will remove those toxins and keep nitrate/Phos in check
