I wouldn't.. Don't take the risk. If a head dies, it dies.. Don't stress it out even more than it has to be. If you aren't experienced you will probably kill it.

I have a og wwc bounce shroom, a bonsi acro, a wwc wt-f acro, a lime geeen acro idk what it is I got at the reef gallery, a brain coral, a Pink Floyd chalice, another chalice from the reef gallery, a red monti cap, a huge amount of gsp and a rock flower nem.

And a Jason fox dayglo favites and a wwc bling bling and okay I won’t cut it

Only frag it if you notice brown jelly on the dying head. I would reposition him in the tank, sometimes they don’t like the flow in a particular spot and get all pouty. Try a couple different locations and see if he extends.

That’s what I just did even though he seemed like he was really liking the spot I had him

I've lost 6 of them and have 4 left. Put them in my frag tank and they are all happy as can be after a month. Brown jelly is the cause, but know one knows what to do.

yeah like I said he was doing well for 3 weeks and today boom

Every torch i've kept in my tank has withered away in 3 weeks time... literally every torch. I've had about 4 now... All other corals (Zoa's, SPS, softies, LPS like frogspawns, hammers, Anemones, etc...) all are thriving and growing with great coloration. Some of my SPS are doubling in size in 1 months time and are not stopping...

Established system almost 2 years old now.. no crash either so everything has been great since day 1. I have given up on trying to keep torches lol - at this point, it's just a waste of $ for me. I cannot get them to live... and have given up trying to find the problem :/

That's exactly how I feel about torches. They all just fall apart in my tank no matter where I put them. all the other soft stuff works just fine. Never noticed any brown jelly either.

He may be a slight better with slightly better looking tentacles

Keep being patient. In my experience, torches can be pretty hardy, having had them survive water quality issues in the past. Keep doing what you're doing and I think it'll bounce back.

My alk hasnt changed much since having him so I don’t think alk is the problem

What does Tidal Gardens run their alk at? My guess is closer to 8 which may be causing the symptoms.

Not necessarily as your acros have adapted to your system. Incoming frags still need to adapt.

I, along with many others, have had trouble keeping torches as well. I actually picked one up last week and it is currently in my coral QT. It'll be interesting to see what happens when I add it to my display.

I believe he said in a YouTube video he runs his alk high too for faster growth

If your PO4 is truly .4 and not .04 that could be the issue. Your other corals have adapted to the high phosphaye levels and torch hasn't had enough time to do so yet.
