What’s your next step in reefing?

1. 120 lbs of 1 year old carib sea in the trash.

2. 180 lbs of wet KP joins the party.

First step is totally redo my sump and electronic area. Make everything safer and more accessible for cleaning and maintenance.

Second step is to see this tank to the 2 year old mark which is next May. If I still feel the same after that, my final step is to step away and hang it up. Too many other things that need my attention these days.

Major overhaul of the garage reef to remove build-up of detritus and treat for Flatworms that have resisted wrasse-attacks, dips, etc. I have to wait for my house to be rebuilt after a kitchen drain leak/flood that ruined the new kitchen cabinets and plank flooring in 1/3 of the house. (I always feared a tank leak but an ABS drain pipe cracked instead.)

Also, maybe get a Chillwell room a/c to see if that can mitigate the hot room that my fishtank got moved into. It was 84F when I got home yesterday but it had been stable at ~80F or less in the room where it had been originally positioned. Warm tanks scare me.

Eradicate flatworms.

Good times

Get a melanurus wrasse. I got red planaria that came along with a BTA that I fought for something like 2 years, I would go round after around of flatworm exit but could never get 100% kill efficacy so they'd always come back weeks to months later. Got a melanurus, and within maybe 30 days they were history. He's the hardest working member of the tank, and puts the cuc to shame.

Finishing up my mixing station. Can't do AWC. No room close and no access to run tubes. But I can at least prepare water more efficiently. And also, why not!

After that, convincing my wife to go with a bigger tank. Should have done that from the beginning! :p A peninsula tank would be fabulous!

I'm currently thinking about this myself. I could go either way.

I could shut down two frag tanks, stop making videos and posts, and just enjoy reefing for myself.

Or I can push further, and see where my potential takes me. But, I could never be more than a hobbyist.

Or just stay where I am. Wanting more, but unable to make the jump. :thinking-face:
Ok, I decided. I'm gonna see how far I can go. Plus, I see a nice spot for my dream tank. Stay tuned for more. ;)

ATO, mixing station, need a new skimmer and then opening up a 6 foot tank for FOWLR. not really into reefing other than corals ppl call pest.

Probably going to attempt to start culturing some phytoplankton and copepods so I can have a better food source for some smaller fish as needed, we'll see how it goes.

Slow down!! Patience is key, keep that in mind.
Last time around, I just jumped in feet first and flew by the seat of my pants. I guess I’m seeing what the exact opposite is like this time. :face-with-hand-over-mouth:
