I was about to say that API's High range ph test is very bad. I test every now and then and I see the same color but it's good to have when there's a problem. They don't have all the colors and they don't even have an 8.1 or an 8.3 or really a good picture for any of the numbers that really matter. Better than nothing though.I was kinda making a joke. Lol. I do have their test kits on hand. I honestly don’t measure Ph. But when I have measured ph using the API it always says the same thing. For more critical stuff I definitely use different kits. Hanna for Alk, Phosphate, and copper. Red Sea for calcium and magnesium. And Nyos for Nitrate. I’ll also use API for cycling. I find the ammonia and nitrite easy to read. I know many people have had false positives using API for ammonia. I personally never have. I will say their nitrate kit is complete junk.
It’s way way off. But yes, definitely stray away when things are more critical. Lol!!!
