Anyone have an idea of what these Cobwebs are, or what's leaving them?

In sitting here reading about those snails, and if that's what they are then it would make sense as it's a filter feeder tank. My only worry is how course they are to my gorgonian. Thanks

Definitely Vermetid. I have two that live on one of my Trochus snails. I've been told they can be invasive, but in two years I have yet to see another in my tank. It's kinda cool to watch them "fish" with their silk.

A year ago I only had one, now I have hundreds. Wish I could go back a remove them before they took over, but now it would be impossible. Their nets steal food from my corals and shrimp, there is just no stopping them.

They don't sting all corals strangely. I let a big one get big just to see what happened. Keep an eye on it. And yea, another challenge if filter feeder tanks.

I kinda think my Pygmy angle is taking care of them when they are small. I should have them and aptasia too running amok.

Welp, just because I need the food going to my gorgonian and not these snails, I'll clip them as I find them. I only see these webs one every month or so, so it'll probably be a while until I can find them. Thanks everyone

Every month or so? Vermatid should be almost every day. Sometimes all day.

No signs of where the come from?

I couldn't find the source the day I posted this. I should preface this by saying that I usually don't see my tank until noon or later, so if they are throwing their nets, they have 4/5 hours of lights on to hide

I've seen something similar happening when overdosing vinegar in my kalkwasser or overdosing alcohol. Killed all my snails so now I know what to be extra careful with... .

Mine only throw their nets when I feed the tank or stir up the sand bed or baste the rocks.
I haven't find a link between when mine throw them. Just kind of happens

Lol, I don't dose anything, minus some phyto and zooplankton

You should try to remove the snails. The mucous nets can irritate corals and make them stay closed up. I just pulled one from my tank yesterday. Looked like this

The red swirly thing is the snail. This one was irritating the zoas and making them stay closed.
