What Are Your Reefing Pet Peeves?

People that are too lazy to take a freakin' picture of the multi-hundred dollar corals they are trying to sell.

Yep, this still chaps my backside as of today!!!

If I hear "my wife will get mad" or "my wife said no" one more time after holding something for someone and loosing countless other opportunities, Im gonna jump out of my freakin' skin.

Nail meet Hammer. I swear this has got to be the "ONE" in this thread. I can't stand when people have a coral but "can't" get a good pic. Or won't get a pic. "Well it came from ......... so"

Developed a new PReefve today...

Going to check out a "huge tank" that turns out to be a std 55g........ MEASURE THE TANK!

-Hobbyists who think hydrometers are accurate.
Just to clarify (and protect everyone here), do you guys think refractometers are accurate? :squigglemouth:

Some hydrometers are extremely accurate, much moreso than refractometers... but no, we're not talking the $12 kind made by Instant Ocean from your LFS ;)

Let me clarify my statement... Hobbyists who think that swing-arm Hydrometers are accurate. ;)

My swing arm hydrometer has been spot on for like 10 years LOL. Feel free to be peeved at me  They aren't always accurate, but they are quite precise, IME.

Well just recently...getting my pH and alk up to "ideal" standards...and then...keeping them there. Very frustrating. Mushroom corals growing too fast, and being impossible to remove, and therefore harassing my hard corals. AND when my tang rips his food out of his algae clip...and then it flies around the aquarium while I try and catch it and put it back in.

-Bryopsis owns my soul.

-I hate being bitten by my clown fish pair, it startles me sometimes and I snap SPS tips often.

-Brown cancer proto-palythoas that also own my soul. Never did I think they would become the plague that they are now, I should have removed the hitchhiker when I had the chance.

-The everything is LE, super expensive, "rare" epidemic kind of sucks.

-People who post here who are just "sharing their collections", but in reality they are posting the same corals for sale in frag packs every week. It's almost like they set the bait with a little teaser, then bam set the hook and land you later in the week in the for sale section.

-Forgetting to unplug your timers when primimg your dosing pump lines can really suck as well.

New one, people who say they aren't into a particular type of coral.:sure: Yet post them like crazy and submit to coral web site registries. Its not a popularity contest, or is it?

Mine is THIS:

Only look at my thread ... don't post... BUT you get a PM saying " wow that is nice let me know when you frag it "...

Dont try to haggle the second before you the buy the coral on a price we agreed on.

I couldn't disagree more with this statement. I think people who use them incorrectly are the problem, moreso than the product itself. It is no different than someone who does not properly calibrate a refractometer.

Hydrometer rev pro

I REALLY hate this. Most of the members in my local club live 60min away and it sucks to make a trip and the tank looks like crap. Feels like a complete waste of time. Most of them don't even think anything is wrong with their tank. LOL!!!

x2 .Always happens to me also.Like a spontaneous landslide.lol.

Don't forget when 30k lokani starts to encrust on your front display!

How on earth did I miss this thread?, where to start? on second thought I think maybe I should keep my over opinionated mouth shut!! lol. posting my opinions could get me banned!!! hehe

Oh, another pet peeve....

When someone PMs you left field stuff out of the blue about a thread/coral/whatever rather than get executed in a thread... haha
