What color pipe to tie this octopus together?

Does anyone else like to coordinate the look of their equipment? I tried but came up a color off.

two different reds is making me reconsider red pipe. What would you do?
RED? Or BLACK?
Let me know what you guys think before I purchase my pipe.

I like standard grey pipe personally. Worked in well with my orange and grey theme to tie into all my Neptune gear and custom sump.

Matching the two reds is going to be tough, especially if you are doing it mail order. I think you should avoid the red.

Why not use a color wheel and pick a contrasting color and paint the pipe using Krylon Fusion for Plastic. Wide range of colors. I am going to paint my supply, return, and manifolds different colors. Paint is cheaper than paying for the colored plastic.

So the choice is Red or Black. I'd choose Black.

I’d do blue to tie that return pump in, personally. If you are using gate or ball valves the red on the handles will tie the red in. I feel like if that’s the only blue in the tank it will stick out, just my opinion.

Or, I wouldn’t run a pump with blue and do all gray or red pipes.

I was in a similar situation (not quite as intricate as yours but I did a lot of toggling back and forth on colors) and had a blue Trigger Systems Triton sump, with a Reef Octo skimmer and Bashsea reactor so had to find a way to tie in the blue and red, so went with blue piping.

Yes I saw the options were red and black. If those are the only you’re considering, then I’d go red.

Red. The sump red is transparent... so that is an "excuse" that it is a different shade.

I was thinking blue too because then it would be red, white, and blue, and I’m a patriotic kind of guy.

I will be adding a Neptune so maybe this is a good option.

I can’t do white…. Most likely it will all be exposed and needs to look as good as the DT itself.

I have considered painting the pipes a metal patina to make it look like 100year old plumbing. But to pick Green (opposite red on CW) would look like Christmas… and not in a good way.
