Clear is cool but the thought of light growing anything on the inside of the pipe scares me away from clear. My favorite color has always been clear
I try not to make excuses and instead come up with solutions. I’m strongly considering swapping out the sump for a DreamboxRed. The sump red is transparent... so that is an "excuse" that it is a different shade.
Krylon Fusion suggestion the most flexible.
I searched for red braided flex pipe for a few pieces and couldn’t find what I was envisioning.
This looks nice. The reason for the blue pump is that was the only one that appears to offer a battery backup. I plan on stuffing another return pump in the sump and I believe it is mostly black. (Don’t own yet)I’d do blue to tie that return pump in, personally. If you are using gate or ball valves the red on the handles will tie the red in. I feel like if that’s the only blue in the tank it will stick out, just my opinion.
Or, I wouldn’t run a pump with blue and do all gray or red pipes.
I was in a similar situation (not quite as intricate as yours but I did a lot of toggling back and forth on colors) and had a blue Trigger Systems Triton sump, with a Reef Octo skimmer and Bashsea reactor so had to find a way to tie in the blue and red, so went with blue piping.
Yes I saw the options were red and black. If those are the only you’re considering, then I’d go red.![]()
