Cracker,
I've been using Coral RX, but it's really strong and might be too harsh.
In the future I'll be going with the Bayer.

Tagging along for more incites from other members :)

I agree, I'd like to know what other think. The Revive Iv'e been using seems to work just fine but there is always a way to improve .

I've been using Bayer for a number of years now. Has worked for me with no loses. I used revive when first starting out. Had numerous sps that was bleach white within 24 hrs. Can't say it was because of the dip but hasnt happened since the switch.

I use Bayer without any issues. There are many formulas for use out there. I use 1.5mL to one ounce

I've never used anything but Bayer and I've never had a problem or any type of coral with a bad reaction to it. It actually seems quite gentle with corals. Any acro I've dipped with it, it's polyps come right out seconds upon putting it on the frag rack.

I just started using only api melafix on acros after finding out that ime it is the best on aefw and very gentle on the corals. Also not potentially dangerous/toxic to me/my family or fish/inverts like bayer is.

I make an huge mistake with the Coral RX:
Dipped some new acro's and forgot ;Oldman to rinse the corals before I placed them.

Dip was hung inside the polyps and they were smoked by the next morning :(

But.. I guess any dip would have done that.

I recently revive dipped a bubble coral that was in pretty bad shape. I thought I'd killed it. But around 3 weeks it's about 75% back. Ypu Peeps talk about sps. I can't wait till I feel confident enough to try. Melted a Green slimer last try.

I really wouldn't know how ? If a moderator would like to, please go ahead.

If the poll can be done will be great to also ask about the ml used.

Four stage dip. Got these from Costco , comes with three , and got the $8 power heads from amazon.

Bayer is pretty gentle. Ya do or should decide on the amount. I did tests with red flat worms , they didn’t die till the concentration was high.
Good bug killer though.
I use that in my first stage dip. Cuz it only kills bugs.

Second stage I use either peroxide (depending on the coral) as it kills algaes, some bugs , and disinfects some bacteria and infections.
If I don’t use peroxide I use revive. Kills some bugs , disinfects , kills some algaes. With both watch the concentration and time. I’ve not had a problem with any coral using the amount and time on the bottle.

My third stage is rinse.

Fourth stage is also a rinse but also inspection for eggs and algaes cut plugs etc, and I do in shallow plastic pan.

Sounds complicated but it really only takes an hour, it does force me to NOT make impulse buys (sometimes , as I’m now looking at a large tunicate in a bag lol).

So true. As far "toxicity" is concerned in our hobby, almost anything we dose, dips or additives to the water including the salt itself could be toxic if ingested I suppose. Like anything else, the use of common sense and a dash of prudence is advisable. I never looked at things like this as maybe someone with small children would who can rummage around in the tank stand, as it's just me and the Mrs.

I went and got new glasses after I put a cap full of fluid from the white and pink bottle into the 55, it was the revive , not the acro power.
I also put the revive in the garage.
Lol.

Salty's approach is much more through than mine. But my dip containers aren't used to clean the back porch either. ;)

Salty,
What's your concentration when your use the peroxide and what's peroxide strength that you buy?
