What did you do to your reef today?

Came to the point with my reef that I'm not the greatest with Acropora and that's it time to go a different route. So I added a bunch of zoanthids today which I know I can grow.

I pulled it out of its moving crate in the basement and set it in its new home for the first time! Oh, and started cleaning it up. The stand, etc are coming right along!

As for the nano, just food today.

Just fed the tanks tonight

Fed it, and then sucked it up and scraped the algae off the glass (easily my least favorite thing about reefkeeping ever, topping even hauling like 60 lbs of saltwater in a 5g bucket for water changes).

Today is clean the skimmer and change the filter sock day. Then feed the fish and test the Alkalinity and do a top off. Tomorrow is make salt water and Monday or Tuesday is
water change day.

Still trying to outwit "night crew" of crabs and snails which insist on moving/rearranging a new Acan frag; guess I'll have to glue it down today, although I prefer to see how well it grows before permanently placing it. BTW, any reefers know how to negotiate a peace settlement with a hermit crab? I'm not above begging, lol.

Changed out the filter roll on the Clarisea SK5000, made RO water, filled up ATO and mixed up 5L of Cal and added Fauna Marin elements to it. Tested kH and NO3. Observed male bangaii cardinal as he’s about to spit out his babies any day now.

I made a skimmer platform, and hooked up my new (used) skimmer. Went from this,

Also siphoned out some detritus from the display. There’s so much flow in there it’s like a constant snow globe. Driving me nuts.

Cleaned out my filter sock and skimmer then tested my water only to find out my PO4 level was 0 ppm.Now how do I raise it back up to 0.02ppm?

Tested both tanks params, cleaned skimmer cups, filled ATOs, fed nems and corals - std weekend maintenance.

I finally gave mine a good clean down. The glass gets dirty from my 2 year old touching it, and I'm a very big stickler on salt creep, but i've been preoccupied lately and haven't cleaned it away. So last night I took some rags and RODI water and gave the exterior of the tank a good wipe down and cleaning :) Looks 1000x better :)

Built my 3rd breakout box.

Sw#1 - Turns off mp40 in the DT
Sw#2 - Turns off overhead fan on the DT
Sw#3 - Turns on AFS
Sw#4 - Activate all blue profile of radions
Sw#5 - Activate AB+ profile of radions
**IF sw4 and sw5 are open, radions follow regular programmed lighting sched
Sw#6 - waiting for magnetic switch from ebay. Once connected,it will trigger light from under the stand

I am about to do water changes on all 7 and replumb one of my frag tanks to use a herbie overflow. The durso is just too loud in an 8” deep tank lol.
