There were 4 others that "called it" at the swap! LOL
bknapp got one as well, so at least we have more than one around here.
Here is a better pic of the three. PC rainbow is the first one on the clean white plug on the left. You can see the deep red and then gold on the right branch.

Got my first Acan. This one is a vivid green, I was trying to stay away from green stuff because PLO already have a bunch, but I really liked the colors on this Acan and it was priced reasonably.

That closest head is a little closed from me cleaning the glass for the pic but the 2nd and the rest on the back that you can't see are opening up and doing great. I forget the name of the booth where I got this piece from but I'm pleased.

Schooleyosis, kep aneye on that urchin. they have a tendency to pick up corals and carry them off. mine likes to drop them behind the rock where i cannot see or get to them. I may have to put him in the sump until they corals are starting to encrust.

Thanks for the heads up. I have everything epoxied down but you are the second one to warn me of this. The bag the urchin came in actually had a few polyps of something in it that I glued to a frag plug. Waiting to ID them but I don't know my zoas very well. So far the urchin has just been on the glass near the overflow box and the powerheads. I think it likes a lot of flow...

their main diet is Coraline algae. but they do a lot to help it spread. ive had mine for 2 years. the boys named him spike. he is about fist sized now and can knock rocks over if im not careful. usually after a frag swap he gets relegated to the sump for a week or two to let things start to encrust.

Honestly I am not happy with them all that much. some of the Zoas are good. it is a Nikon D3000 with the stock 18-55 Lens. I am ordering a macro adapter for it to test out since they are cheap.

I'm interested in knowing what this "macro adapter is as well. 3 options for macro are...
-a filter lens which actually works fairly well on the cheap but you need to be rather close. Gives some good magnification.
-a reversal ring. This gives high magnification but is ultimately garbage. only able to focus at extreme close range.
-extension tubes. I've not used these but evidently, these are only really able to shoot at very close range as well. Appear to be a waste of money compared to just buying a used macro lens. Especially with decent quality tubes costing a couple hundred clams.
As far as the reversal ring goes, it may be poop but for $3, it's worth it even if you just use it once. Don't remember if I used the 18-55 or the 55-250 to get it but with a reversal ring on, I got a shot of a red planaria flatworm on the glass at over 10:1 magnification.

My urchin claimed his first prize last night. Hahaha
Was carrying this snail around. I can't believe how "sticky" the urchin is. Had to almost pry the snail away from it. So far the urchin has just stuck to the glass and hasn't got to the rocks yet. Can't imagine what it will do if it gets near my frags.
