It eats still normally, but I noticed his swimming patterns is a bit altered, minor breathing issues, white spots all over body is visible when closely looked at. I feed mysis, rods', nori, brine enriched, pellets, flakes. I have had him for 1-2 months?

What is it?
What should I do? Should I pull it out or let it take care of itself with proper feedings and garlic? I know I've read others saying they just properly feed with garlic and nori and the problems went away by itself. I have a biocube 14 sitting around.
I also have a yellow tang but he is normal and active.

White spots to me always sounds like ich. Hope others will reply with more help. Is it a fish only tank? Other inhabitants?

1.025
Fowlr (can I reduce salinity since it is a fowlr)
Cleaner wrasse
Flameback
Anthias
Crab
Gobies
Shrimp
Firefish

Test just now and looks like .25 nitrite with api test kit. Should I dose with prime?

I would start with a water change and a temp raise. If its ick the raise in temp will help the spores not spread to other inhabitants. Keep dosing with garlic and if anything try ick attack,,, IMO that's the best things todo

Just feed the tang well and try and keep your hands out of the tank until it goes away,And it will go away as long as he's not stressed anymore.Dont add any meds to the tank and don't raise the temp just keep him fed well and no stress

Lol. Panicked so he's in a bc14 now

Ok so I need help. Majority, if not all, have ich now. For sure all my anthias, tangs, and dwarf angel shows visible ich. My 117 DT has no corals, only fish, crabs, and shrimps. What do I do????????????

Should I just go hypo in my DT? I have a gravity fed top off that can help maintain stable low salinity. Salinity will slowly be reduced over a time period. What do I do???

Something is stressing your fish if there all getting ich now, find out what stressing them and put a stop to it,Dont do hypo all that does is stress the fish more.Just continue to feed them well.healthy fish will fight off ich with ease

I've had ich before. Best thing I did was hypo. Anytime anything new is introduced into your DT, quarantine it for at least 2 weeks, unless it comes from a trusted source. If your tank has fish only do the hypo in the tank if you want, or take them out to another tank and gradually work to 1.010. Hypo will kill pretty much everything that is not fish, your shrimps, snails, crabs, ich, ect. Keep your fish in hypo for at least month while your dt with no fish so if ich is still present it won't have a host. That's just a quick summary. There's a lot of info on hyposalinity it's safe and works all the time. Best way to avoid infestation is quarantine.

Thanks for responding. I'd like to note, don't know if it matters now, that I introduced my anthias over this past weekend and suspect it was them. Everyone was find till I introduced the six female anthias. Introduction of six anthias at once too much that caused the explosing in ich?

I believe I had a mini cycle. My not too old and white dry dead rocks (50lbs) became dark brown within 24 hours. I assume it is a layer of diatoms.

Did an API test with the following datas:

ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: didn't test
ph: 7.8
Temp: 78
Salinity: didn't test. Should be same as above test results.

I bet that was the problem to.Adding 6 fish at once is alot and you probaly went through a mini cycle like you said. And that's what stressed the fish causing them to get ich.Just keep an eye on your water perameters until the bacteria can catch up and keep the fish fed well

Some people will disagree with this, but it worked for me. Add a UV Sterilizer. It will not cure the fish that presently have ich, but it will prevent any others from contracting it. Once you irradicate this outbreak, it should prevent it in the future....or it has for me at least.

Two visible dead anthias.
4 missing anthias and 1 missing orchid dottyback. Sad status.
