What all do you frag with your bandsaw?

:D

Everything.

I'd like to know if everyone uses fresh water or Saltwater in their bandsaws when they cut corals. I think some corals are sensitive to FW in the bandsaw. I've found chalices and Montipora don't like it. Everything else seems fine.

I frag almost everything with it with the exception of acro's.Also I use SW while cutting,it may rust the band saw out faster but they usually have a 2 year warranty so you trade it in before then anyway and yes Randy alot of stuff hates the FW exspeacially while going through such trama.

everything including elegance corals i have frag about 30 elegance into 100+ frags and have lost one frag so far. evryother one has healed and grown i will post pics soon.....i have tried it all and wouldnt change my bandsaw for anything else again. no more dremel for me...lol....

Are you all using the inland?

Favia/favites, chalice, micros, cyphastrea, and even zoas on rock/frag plug. Saltwater is the way to go. Inland.

Whats two or three band saws that are good for this?

inland..all the way....i like it so much i became a distributor...LOL.....

Has anyone ever tried putting lugol's solution and SW ? its like dipping while fragging =] neosporin while cutting =]! i tihnk its a great idea .

Inland - Everything that will fit in the saw, I frag it.

I have never put any liquid in the saw and I have never had one issue. I have used the saw to frag HUGE colonies of Acans and so on without ever using a drip of water. It still runs like a champ.

Just received my Inland today, did you do the complete elegance with the saw or just the base? Read to cut the base and let the tissue seperate itself.

ive only use fw and never had a problem with a single coral but ive only done acans and micros
also inland

I use a bandsaw. Don't use ro water, I made that mistake when I diary got my bandsaw. Burnt 6 bubblegum monster frags.... I use the xl speedster bandsaw

Do you use SW Mike?

Inland for everything - including rhizos ;)

You can cut all the way through an Elegance, let it seperate, or cut the skeleton and use a razorblade for the tissue.

i cut the elegance right thru the tissue also. they will heal just fine. i use SW but hve a dipping bucket and a cleaning bucket next to me. and also a squeeze bottle with SW. i cut them use the sqeeze bottle to remove the calcium from the cut, then i put it in the revive dip whle i keep cutting. then after about five minutes i take them out of the revive dip and rinse them in the bucket of regular SW and then glue them to the plugs and back in the tank they go. its a whole process but it have proven to work with everything i have fragged. im even getting some goniopora to start growing and fragged a scoly into 8 pieces and so far so good..... also cut a dendro in half and has then fully healed..... now in going to try and frag my colwn fish i think it will work.... :)
