i frag everything as well. When i cut i use salt water with revive in it. the diamond laser wet band saw is the single best thing i have ever purchased for this hobby.

BTW cutting without water is not even close to as good as cutting with water. better for the blade and the coral. the water is there to clean out the cuts and blade during cutting. the diamond edge is very fine so when its filled with gunk it does not cut as well. still cuts but not as good as if it was wet.

it also keep the blade from heating up with can cause damage to the balde and coral. would you ratehr a cool blade rinning through your coral or a hot one?? easy choice for me. a good wet saw as long as you clean it after every use will be just fine with the salt water. mine is in the same condition as the day i got it and never use it without saltwater

Not sure if you are joking or not, but I really do frag choco starfish with my Inland.


Also, I'm not sure where all the other saws are made, but the Inland is made in the USA, right here in Michigan. Hope that doesn't hurt their sales now LOL
 
What Make and Model Bandsaw is the one to get?

Do you just use Tank water?

Does the Salt water affect the saw?

I frag everything with it, including acroporas, man they stick to the glue on the plug like crazy with that nice clean cut, its great!

Gryphon with a inland blade is the way I roll.
 
I got an Inland Diamond saw a couple of weeks ago and just used it this weekend. I cut a couple of favias with it and it went well. The frags are doing fine. I also cut some acros with it just because I had it out. I normally cut the acros with bone cutters (actually toenail cutters from Mike's Warehouse). I was surprised at how each they were to mount after I had a perfectly flat surface to glue down.

I used tank water most of the time but quite frankly it would drain out so quickly that most of the time it was running dry. When I finished I ran a cup of tap water through it and rinced the platform with tap water.

I heard somewhere that so many people have started using this saw for fragging that Inland is now making a model with a plastic table/platform just for fragging.
