What do you guys do with your old equipment

I will give it to people just starting out too. There are a lot of really cool people in my area (S.E. Mich) that were helpful to me when I started out and I try to pay it forward. Some of it sits around stored til I get some hair-brained idea to try something like a Frankenstien tank or invention (ask me about my pump powered gravel vacs for wifeys fw breeding set ups lol). I agree it can be fun to step out of our comfort zones and try some old school experimentation. Plus pumps break and sometimes the older stuff comes in handy til you can get a new relpacement.

I have 3 boxes:
1/ future repurpose or emergency use
2/ Give away
3/ sell or trade

Sometimes I also give away from #s 1 & 3 too

Pump died, I think it needs an impeller. I repaired it numerous times and re grooved the angles so it doesn't start in reverse, rebuilded the (stupid) plastic bearings but I think it is now beyond repair. Of course if I could get an impeller I will again fix the thing. If anyone has something similar they want to sell, I want it. I went on here on the buying forum but I don't even know what that stuff is that is selling as I almost never buy equipment as mine is all older than most people on here and was built before they invented names for things like Turbelle 660 or Harerjabber whatever. I just want a pump.

I usually try to sell it or keep it as a backup.. occasionally give it away or sell cheap to someone trying to start in the hobby..
