What does 60K lux calculate to?

watt an lux intensity will vary from fixture to fixture, because of focused optics. so there is actually no correlation from fixture to fixture. IMO.
the old watt to gal was a real rough estimate. really rough actually.

There are also efficiency losses which will be unique to the fixture. You are drawing 134 watts from the wall but my guess it about 70% of that is actually making it to the LEDs. Then about 70% of that is being made into light. Then optics, as @saltyfilmfolks said will cause more loss. These number are of course very rough estimates

Ah. Well then the first round of inefficiencies can be ignored.

I have a order in to add 410-420 Nm to the spectrum 10 chips

I added a 430nm to my Kessil and it makes a HUGE difference. They're deceptively powerful.

It's good piec of the spectrum. I went w sbreeflight in my 30 and left the current orbit in my 55 because of that range.
It's purty too.

My maxspect is really close to 60 from factory and pers tests. A Chinese bb is constantly 63
I'm getting closer on kessil and I think it's 60 as well.
Just got more data from Radion yesterday they're on track with my ai sol data.

Jus saying There seems to be an emerging pattern.

T5 all run in the high 30 and 40. Mh 40 and 50.

Very interesting, for multiple reasons. First that the different MFG's are so close, but I guess given the similarity in LED choices lately, it shouldn't be. It also seems to indicate that what LED's gain in power efficiency that kinda lose on PAR efficiency.

Violet is awesome, really gets some nice fluorescence from corals.

Leds are running at .600-.625 ma each and 3.4v doing a build for my 220. Tying to figure out how many more leds to go with and optics Or no optics. Have any pics of your light set up?

I have 3 open spots I left in the fixture but the bad thing is I didn't add the nuts in the rails for the bases. I would have to shuffle a lot of chips around to add the 3 bases.
Design error, didn't think ahead during the build.
I may sell this fixture to build a 48" fixture

I keep my small tank around 5-6k lux at the sandbed. More and I start getting a lot of algae. But I hardly have any corals.

The crazy thing also is NO coralline grows under my chip configuration..
Maybe me killing off ALL the algae has killed the coralline spores

Coraline didn't start for me until almost a year in. Now it is growing like crazy.

i have no coralline at higher intensities. while researching tanks and par esp at higher par and such. its not uncommon it seems . Im, actually using it as a gauge as to how much light people have and where they have it.
