What does a red sea reefer not include? (and other questions)

I'm getting a reefer XXL 750 Deluxe for a lionfish.
I know that it includes the sump, stand, lights and tank, and a RO reservoir.

1. I know I need to buy a return pump... But do I need extra plumbing too or is the plumbing for the return pump included and I only need the pump itself?
2. They recommended the Sicce Syncra SDC 9.0 DC Pump...
3. they have an RO-reservoir but does it include the ATO unit itself?
4. What else does it NOT include?
5. I've got 2 hydor wavemakers (1500gph) is that enough gph?
6. What do i do for the mechanical filtration of the sump. (I used canisters for all my other marine tanks since they were small)
7. Is it possible to keep a gray bamboo shark with the lionfish (I'm getting a clearfin)
8. People from other forums recommended me to get a controller and so I did. I bought the Apex neptune controller. On the info it says that it has probes to keep track of salinity, temperature, Oxidation-reduction potential and pH?? (if its true then that means i don't need a redox meter)
9. I also want a moray, I'm getting either the chainlink, zebra or a yellowhead is that ok?
10. It probably won't be a reef tank but it might have some shrooms and macro algae.
11. I heard it's hard to get lions and eels to eat, some suggested ghost shrimp but I still dunno what to feed
12. I've always used hydrometers but the other forums highly recommended me to use refractometers, which one is the easiest to use and cheap (~$100) and accurate?
13. I also dunno what to stock the refugium with I know macro algae. What else?
14. Also if the shark is OK (if it is ok in it for around a year I can always upgrade) Then here's my stocking: 1 gray bamboo shark, 1 emperor angelfish, 1 koran angelfish, 1 clearfin lionfish and 1 moray eel
15. Is the list overstocked or can I get a surgeon too? Also would a puffer be ok? I'm worried about nipping...
16. Any other things I should know?

Let me see what I can remember first the reefers came w everything but pump skimmer and anything else you want in it like reactor s I had a black African volatile lion n a moray n had no prob e them eating from live feeders to frozen but they didn't like flake or pellets.i also had a banded shark but he had his own tank I'm sorry will have to read q some more to remind me of a few things but know lots will b helping oh ya go to ftd n they have a great chart for cir pump s and flow n the Rossmount section.more n a bit grandson drive ing me crazyR

First off, I’d hold off on the deluxe because the reef leds are junk LOL. Second off I wouldn’t buy a Red Sea. Their tanks are going to _____. They’re having issues leaking and generally blowing the bottom out. Waterbox is much better ime.

so you’d need
1- a better tank
2- better lights
3-protein skimmer (reef octo regal is an excellent choice)
4- fuge light (Ai prime fuge is another good choice along with the kessil)
5- return pump

Your wave makers will be fine since you don’t plan on corals. That tank is a bit small for your fish choices imo...

well i read the other post and will need to be looking into this as well as we were going to get one. NOw we need to do more research and shopping on which all-in-one we might want. Thanks!

But I know im getting the LION and THE EEL for sure. if shark is ok then ill get that but itll take like a year for the tank to mature and be suitable for a shark. prob not puffer

Beg your pardon, my daughter's E-170 has the reef LED and it's far from junk. Second, Red Sea has made modifications to the silicone sealant, (45 degree angles on all seams inside tank) and have modified the stands with extra bracing.
To Tom the Bomb and Rusty, go to your LFS and see if they have the new XXL 750 Deluxe and also, call Red Sea in Texas and talk to Mr. Chehn and he will tell you all the specs and upgrades. Great Customer Service.

Red sea lights are junk. Way to many people have trouble with them. The new 750 might be a good tank, but I wouldn’t trust it. To many 750s have failed to just blindly trust a new design. I would keep looking.

My lfs doesn’t carry red seas anymore because they’re junk. He’s had 4 tanks leak onto his showroom floor and multiple tanks at clients houses fail.

It’s not the fact that they don’t grow coral but the light actually stop working. The tank is too small for a shark. And too small for an eel.

You will need a return pump, waterbox supplied the silicone tube that connected directly to the pump.
You will need an ato. They provide the glass tank for water and that is all.
If you have limited corals, almost any light will do. I have no experience with red sea lights.
You will need to purchase a skimmer
If you are going to run a refugium, you will need a light for that.

I can't comment on the stocking list

You’d be fine with a snowflake eel. You may have issues with aggression towards smaller fish when it gets bigger.

+1 the Waterbox is an excellent alternative!

You will need a return pump, waterbox supplied the silicone tube that connected directly to the pump.
You will need an ato. They provide the glass tank for water and that is all.
If you have limited corals, almost any light will do. I have no experience with red sea lights.
You will need to purchase a skimmer
If you are going to run a refugium, you will need a light for that.

It comes with the hose for the return. Smaller fish like chromis, angelfish, wrasses etc

It comes with the hose for the return. Smaller fish like chromis, angelfish, wrasses etc

Yes, smaller angelfish. Baby emperor angels would also be fair game but as long as it’s above 3 inches you should be fine. The eel also won’t be full grown for awhile so you should be fine.

Yes so the Waterbox sump is set up a tad different but it’s essentially the same. The 220 has an external ato container so it’s out of the way. That’s about it. What size sicce?
you should be able to find the exact sump schematics on waterbox’s website
