And the whole Hawaiian ban thing is BS as far as I'm concerned. You can harvest them for food all you want but god forbid that you keep one for your tank pffffft.

Don't forget also killing for sport is perfectly fine as well. Makes sense.

Would love a australian harlequin tusk fish with those strong blue teeth.watch video as other tangs and stuff gently nibble that food then comes in big bertha and ribs big shreads off lol ^_^

And this little clearer why cant have one as i want inverts / shrimps/ crabs/ snails and this particular turkish ( smallish one) ate a jaw fish soon as introduced and then a cleaner shrimp,so as lovely as they look its a definately NO NO fish for me at present time ^_^

Gotta be the hobby classic - Coral Beauty. Wanted one even long before I got into saltwater. I'm not a gambling man, though, and would rather not roll the dice with my coral.

This is absolutely not true. Well fed Harlequin Tusk does not eat smaller tank mates. They are lazy and rather eat food that I feed him rather than go hunting for food.
They must be in a large enough tank however. Also when introduce smaller fish and invert, acclimating box is a must, and most likely wait until the Tusk go to sleep first to release the small fish or invert. There is nothing that will bring out the predator instinct than a distressed, disoriented prey which is easy food.

The peppermint price tag suggests it’s probably best left in the ocean .

They are deep water fish. That is why they are expensive. There are specimens that have been in captivity for 16 years. I am sure I can keep them alive for long term given the fact that I need to spend around 30000.00 dollars to get ONE.
