I've had mine for well over a year. It's thriving in my 100 gallon cube.Personally I haven’t found a single person to keep one over a few months. I’ve read they do not do well in captivity. They are absolutely beautiful tho!

Should be left in the ocean, IMHOThe hardest fish to acclimate and care for are sharks and rays in my experience. So I stopped offering to build such tanks for customers. Most of the other fish come down to the source of the livestock. In most cases lose rates were about 1-3% of a shipment. I tried to avoid fish from the Philippines due to the prevalent use of cyanide in collection of ornamental fish in the past and this seemed to help a great deal on survival rates.

Red Sea Regal!!!!! my dream fish but is spurns me at every turn!!!!
Your best bet is the Maldives Medium size Juveniles that start showing up on the market late February. They are pretty bullet proof and they look just like their redsea cousins. We should have @alton do a thread on acclimating them. I think he's kept 14 or so successfully over the years.
