So these spots happened pretty suddenly..... I didn't notice anything all day until I saw this all at once.....

Some of areas look like some skin is coming off....

My only ideas can be that it scratched itself on a rock or got stung by my elagance coral.....

These spots are only on this side of the fish. The other side is perfect.

Beautiful naso by the way looks nice and fat, i just had a crazy problem with mine, lips were all messedup nd couldnt get him to eat or pick for a while felt really bad, he came out to be fine but @Humblefish helped me out maybe hell chime om

Thanks. The spots are flat.....kind of looks like the skin was burned/peeled off in that area......it can't be a disease as it's only on one side.....I am battling ich with a few fish but I don't think that has anything to do with it...

Deffinitly not ich, im in the same boat rite now with you, with a purple tang has burns that look like that with nothing on its fins just adnormal patches and there flat, my only conclusion is he sleeps were theres a bucnh of Pseudocorynactis or my naso tang is smackin him with his tail

The only thing that makes sense to me is getting stung by a coral. You can feed antibiotics in the food by binding them with Focus. Antibiotics include Kanaplex and Furan 2 among others. This is only to keep it from being infected. You can just wait until you see signs of infection before treating. His immune system can probably fight off any bacteria.

X2 that's my best guess also! Do you have any anemones?

This showed up midday I think as it's pretty obvious and I didn't see it earlier.....I dont have any anemones.....(aptasia lol) some skin seems to be peeling on the edges of some of the spots....the spots are flat. As far as ich goes, i know this is not ich but I wad saying a few others have been dealing with it......this girl has been pretty good.....hopefully these burns? Will not change that

Thanks for the help guys....I also showed it to my lfs but they had no clue

Update? If it was caused by a coral sting it should be starting to heal a little.

Also, where does your naso sleep at night? If near an LPS, she might be getting stung by it's sweepers.

Hard to tell if its getting better......now the spots kind of look raised.....this happened midday not overnight....I do have a huge elegance which for now is the culprit

Try to see where he sleeps at night. Nasos like making a den for themselves. I know someone who lost a naso because it had made it's sleeping den right next to a torch and wouldn't budge even though my friend could see it getting stung at night by the sweepers.

Hmmp

I would just wait & see for now. What makes me think this is just damage or a sting is you said these things are only on one side of the fish, while the other side is perfect. A disease wouldn't discriminate like that. ;)

In the meantime, you could start soaking fish food with vitamin supplements (exs. Selcon, Zoecon, Vita-chem) to help boost the immune system to deal with this. A more aggressive approach would be to start soaking her food with Kanaplex (an antibiotic) using a binder like Seachem Focus. Or you could QT, and dose Kanaplex directly into the water.

I've been soaking already as I'm also dealing with ich and brook. It does actually look better today...here are the pics.
