Yup....I think my purple may have it too....I think we can rul out disease though because its limited to that area of the fish
Could just be a heck of a coincidence that it hasn't spread to the other side of the fish. I think you are going to have to treat ALL your fish in QT and go fallow to knock this problem out.

Even so it doesn't look like brook.....I'm quite familiar with it....I've never actually had any fish other then cf get brook......ever since I've moved my livestock into the new tank I'm battling all these diseases......

I had anthias with brook, so it affects any fish. Also, brook kills fast. Fish still alive? Probably not brook. Any way you have access to a microscope and feel comfortable doing a skin scrape (just the standard name)? Parasites are quite obvious, bacteria not as much so.

Negative on the microscope. I definitely have brook or velvet in my system.....I'm assuming not velvet or they would all be dead by now

The naso I would have guessed coral stings. Brook will kill almost as fast as velvet from my experience. If you see signs of disease, the fish is dead already. Kind of like Rabies. Symptoms means death. Sucks.
Bummer on scope. What are you treating with if you think you have brook or velvet?

I'm just trying to ride it out for now.....I haven't added any fish in a while so whatever is going on must have been around for awhile....hoping I can get their immune system back up and running

My purple tang has had tiny white spots for a few days....more like sugar then salt.....he's still eating.....his stomach does seem bloated......am I dealing with velvet? Wouldn't everything be dead by now? My clowns are covered in this white powder...lost one this morning, had a lot of stuff hanging off him....

Brooklynella and Uronema haven't been as thoroughly researched as Cryptocaryon and Amyloodinium. The latters are a major threat to the aquaculture industry and thus, worthy of extensive study. Since brook & uronema are mostly host-specific diseases, and nobody really wants to eat clownfish or chromis damselfish... 
Even anecdotal accounts differ with these diseases. With brook, I've seen cases where it only afflicts the clownfish, no other fish are affected, etc. While other times it wipes out an entire fish population like velvet. Symptoms of this disease can also vary - from skin peeling or sloughing off, to excessive white mucous forming around the affected area(s), to sometimes looking very similar to ich-like sprinkles. As mentioned above, only a skin scrape viewed under a scope can conclusively ID.
It is even a big mystery WHY clownfish are so susceptible to this disease. Following a velvet outbreak, clownfish are often the only fish left standing - presumably because of their incredibly thick mucous coat. But brook tears thru them like hot butter.

Really weird.....my chromis seem fine although I have seen them visiting the cleaners.....I may have to treat this time....I'll see how everyone looks tomorrow..... Thanks for the help!

Looks much better now.....just scars. Not sure if they will go away....I still have no idea how this happened.

Usually when they get burned by coral itll go away quickly. you never kno, ive had the same scars before on tangs from them all tail wipping eachother. Looks good to me !!
The naso is looking much better. Something to keep in mind is we probably only know of a fraction of the diseases that exist which can afflict SW fish; just the most common ones. Every now and then you are going to encounter a "mystery disease" no one knows anything about, much less how to treat. Just another reason to QT IMHO. Let whatever play out in there and not in your DT.

I'm really curious as to what happened. Don't think disease as it wad a limited area and the fish had a lot of exposed flesh that seemed to be from some kind of attack......maybe my gorilla crab jumped on him and went to town or maybe a fight with another fish although very unlikely. Probably a coral sting.....
