I'm currently using this fluval sea light on my refugium and I'm not getting any growth. It's been running for a few months now and some of the macro algae is turning white. It's in your basic 10g tank. What lights have you used that have been successful at growing macro algae?

Homedepot phillups 100watt led lights i have two over my refugium

I use a Kessil Tuna Sun over mine. You can find them on this site sometimes. I have a Tuna Blue for sale;) Many people on the site have also had good results with HD or Lowe's stock bulbs with a reflector.

I've been told about using HD and Lowe's lights before. I'll probably try that first

I had that same fluval light for months almost a year and very little growth. I changed to a Philips Par 38 i think the 100w 5000k light. Bought one of those aluminum clip gooseneck thst painters use at HD and man my cheato exploded. Was trimming cheato back every two weeks. Like crazy!!

Red leds in the 660nm range. Growth will surprise you.
