What is the most you would spend on a fish?

Given all things about shipping and acclimation are fine, what is the most you would spend on a fish, and what would that fish be?

250 - 400 is my limit, this would only be 2-3 times though. Of course there are exceptions that would make me go 400+ if i was either making an "investment" Like a fish that i would breed. Or just something really nice. When i am older i hope to be able to keep fish like this.

175-250 Probably be some very sweet tang or wrasse if my tank was big enough. Give that i have spent 50$ on 1 polyp id be willing to throw down 200+ on a fish i may have for 5+ years.

How about "it depends"?

If I have to pay cash, then $100-125 is tops for me, however if I can trade in some of my colored stick frags for the fish, then the sky is the limit!

The most I would spend is about 50.00. I dont care much for fish. I have tangs to help keep clean and supply some fish poop for the coral.

The most I would spend would be $200 to $300. I just had to have the maculicep tang.

I said $400-$600 if I had it to burn and the wife wouldn't find out....The fish would be a aquacultured Interruptus angelfish......I spent $180 on a Blotched Anthias.

I have spent well over $400 for fish but it is nicer now wholesale but I still have expensive taste. Rhomboid wrasse, Crosshatch Trigger, Flame wrasse. Man don't tell my wife or she will shoot me.

I got it from the Dr.s. You know you pay extra for that 14 day guarantee. It was 4" and fat and eating the first night. Even followed me from one end of the tank to the other. I paid $170. They were going for $300 last yr.
