Hopefully anything aquacultured will be the new fad. This hobby wont exist forever if we keep destroying wild reefs

I was gonna say the same thing, we should put frags we cant do anything with back where they originated! Im with Ronnie on Sps though. love them and im getting the hang of how to grow them. thanks again for the frags there doing great even getting a couple new encrusted polyps!!

pretty sure there's people obsessed with Acans
pretty sure there's people obsessed with SPS's
pretty sure there's people obsessed with Shrooms
pretty sure there's people obsessed with Polyps
pretty sure etc etc.

Everythings a craze if you're into it. Industry wide-I don't think anythings targeted, otherwise we wouldn't be seeing even more intense lighting systems developing if people just wanted to keep chalices. Certain things just have higher prices, and can be impressive in small pieces (trimming up an acro colony doesn't leave you with as intense of pieces as a small chalice frag, just owing to the coral.)
I think the main trend is people like Reefing, and they like building a tank that reflects what their tastes are.

I'm rooting for aqua cultured pieces becoming the new fad. It would be nice to see some "oldies but goodies" show some new growth/colors with the new technologies (especially with lighting)

Even though I think that the hobby does more good than bad for the natural reefs if by nothing else then by creating awareness.
Increasing the aqua cultured industry would be a step in the right direction.
