What is the worst product you ever bought it?

1. No name condoms from the budget bin at a gas station
2. The wedding ring that followed a few months later
3. Above made my Skilter filter purchase less painful

J/K love my wife and kid but still hated the Skilter lol

Let the skimmer overflow for a few weeks.
Already put a bag of carbon in and pulling it out of the tank with that and the skimmer cup. Killed my satosa and almost my dwarf flame angel.
I change my vote. UltraLife Red Slime Stain Remover is the worst product I have ever used.

Innovative Marine DIY AUQA Gadget Aquarium Mesh Screen Lid Kit
This is right at the top of my list at the moment. Just finished putting one together after a trip to the hardware store to purchase smaller spline, because...
1. The screen is made of this really thick white plastic Screen/mesh . The use of the word screen would be highly debatable, maybe a light defuser ?
2. The spline is incredibly large .355 (used .220) .225 would be better.
3. The corners are not available to make cutouts, purchase extra thinking they would be. I made some out of moldable plastic pellets .

Safe yourself some frustration and buy the Red Sea version. I did as well but decided to order a new tank so now I need a larger top. The only reason I finished the the IM top was it became personal.

I am not a violent man but, its a good thing the person who thought this SNAFU up was not in my garage.

Brightwell Xport -NO3 cubes.
Added 4 cubes to my HOB on my 2.5 gallon tank in Jan or Feb. I was moving something and touched them a few days ago and they instantly dissolved into muck! I can't imagine the mess these would make in a sump or larger system. I can't find anything that says to remove these in X amount of time, like the PO4 cubes do.

Everything that started with Aqueon in the name.
I think Aqueon makes a good product. You just need to know what you are buying. My 210 gallon RR tank is Aqueon. All the Hob filters for my QT and holding tanks are Aqueon.

Would I buy an Aqueon light for coral, no.

Thanks to forums, google reviews and my beloved YouTube, I've been able to avoid many wasted purchases.

For me, an electric gravel vacuum (so you don't need to syphon). It had just enough horsepower to turn itself on, and on the perfect angle, at the perfect 'water height level', it nearly sucked water half way up the tube! I'm thinking about modifying it to run off a V8 engine....

Oddysea skimmer. Total junk and a micro bubble storm maker. IO hydrometer, Hydor Korilia gen 1 pumps the impellar out break off at the magnet or they would start in reverse.

actually that was a real product in the late 90s. i fell for it. so did 100,000s of people. it went away for a while then resurfaced in the mid 2000s.

I remember see it online and in magazines related to the aquairum hobby. Knew right away it would not do 90% of what it claimed. I also remember the API tap water filter that would make perfect water for fresh and saltwater tanks. Both junk with no practical use for aquariums.

Good evening,

Worst thing I bought (it doesn’t apply to this hobby), was a small coach purse. I loved the color so so pretty, but I’m a very simplistic girl. It was three times the size of my little wallet purse that had Elsa and Anna on it from the movie frozen. I only have a few things in my purse, car keys , work Id, school id, drivers license, one credit card, and one debit card. Not to mention my late 90s flip phone. Now I did have to buy a new phone which is this iPhone 8 and it’s the size of an aircraft carrier. (It was the smallest one that would work with my MacBook Pro). As of yet I still haven’t set it up or activated it. I tried and failed, when it wanted to know my whole life. My new phone is currently bigger than my purse in which I may have to use my coach purse. But it was still a waste of 299 dollars. I could have bought some more coral or something for my tank, or flowers for my home.
