lol it is to me. I absolutely hate bubble algae with a passion as it is very annoying to get rid of. I like to thank aquasd for my current bubble algae and aiptasia outbreaks. I scrubbed and dipped in multiple solutions and even super glued over most of the bottom portions of frag plugs but they snuck by. Now every frag in my tank (unless I know it is from an actual trusted source and i only really trust 3 companies tbh), gets fully taken off of frag plugs, dipped in 3-4 solutions (coralrx, bayers, H2O2, and iodine depending on coral type) and completely smothered in super glue up to the actual coral flesh. Pain in the butt but gets the job done

I guess I'm in the minority because I'm not all that worried about algae or even aiptasia... I'll work to get rid of some things but I don't freak out, lol. The only thing I've ever had to shut a tank down over is colonial hydroids... now THOSE can be scary!

(And btw, those aren't corallimorphs, they're Caryophyllia smithii, aka Devonshire cup coral.

What do you think? OP is still trying to figure out what’s on his frag. Did he verify it was a vermetid snail…..

Thanks for the Devonshire cup coral info. They look just like corallimorphs so I figured they were and others agreed. Good to know! Appreciate it!

Someone else posted trying to ID them (Caryophyllia) so the info was fresh in my mind, lol!

I can’t tell a difference between Caryophyllia and Corallimorphs… I believe they are a cup coral but not a Devonshire….

Could be. Main difference from corallimorphs is cup corals are lps, and many types are non-photosynthetic.
