So quick google of hydroids shows they are bad so what's so bad about them and ur saying put putty over them? I already shot the aptasia with aptasia x

The Brittle Stars are harmless and a common hitch-hiker. They are broadcast spawners and can move freely around the tank.

I think they get spit into the water, so they may be seen on the glass but IME no.

DO you know how the hydroids spread?. I thought they did the same.

I wish my brittles would spawn more.

Well the only weird thing is I got this rock from my buddy and I know for a fact cause I was there when he bought the rock 5 years ago that it was just rock it wasn't live so if he didn't introduce anything how is the rock this literally alive?

Colonial Hydroids like those in the image use budding.

My Brittle Stars spawn if I do a water change where the alk value is the make up water is a higher value then the display water. Hard to say if that is related to pH or not. Tanks with few or no hermits have higher populations of brittle stars and stomatella.

Hydroids, Stomatella, Brittle Stars, Aiptasia, Flatworms, Red Bugs, Byropsis, Asterina Stars, coral eating Nudibranch can all be introduced to a system on frags. That is why it's so important to inspect pieces prior to purchase and dip, although not all dips treat or kill all hitch-hikers.

Those are Bristle worms. As long as they don't get too big, or too many they are good. Well, if you ask 10 people about them, you might get several different answers!
