I think it's algae. I squirted it and it appeared to move with the flow but not blow away. He pointed it out when he sold it to me and said the coral would probably encrust over it.What bothers me about the photo is the brown spot on it. I drew a circle around it. Is that a brown jelly looking stuff?? Or is it part of the skeleton?

While that is true, I originally posted under the assumption (hope) that it was some sort of montipora.Lastly, this being a gonipora or even a favia which it's not one, falls into the LPS category not SPS![]()
