What is your go-to coral?

Blue-green sympodium. Like a particularly pretty cross between blue clove polyps, rainbow encrusting monti, and GSP, except it grows at maybe montipora pace at most. I'm not sure why it isn't more popular. Maybe it just isn't well-known?

I used to have A 5/6 inch colony. It was one of my favorites. I’m surprised I don’t see it more, it’s always been somewhat rare. Best I find lately is plugs but it is a slow grower

Sometimes in our tanks, we grow to like a specific kinda of coral. Maybe it is zoas, montis. Or hammers, just to name a few. I am wondering, is there a go-to coral you seem to add more than others to your tank?

Green Slimer for me. Super fast grower, cool growth patterns, indestructible, colorful under actinics, etc… I frag them and it’s on every tank but end up giving them away since people kept asking! Ha

I never kept sps, and im currently setting up my new reef tank, would you say green slimer are an easy sps? I really love the way they look

Hammers, frog/octo spawns, torches….all seem to grow like gang busters in my tank.

Indeed - super beginner SPS, super cool! It survived param swings, very resilient. Another one you can try is digitata - very colorful and fast grower as well.

Nope, I love them all.

Gorgonians - great swaying movement and just makes any tank feel like a reef

Euphyllia/Fimbriaphyllia - great movement

Plates - super cool, super vibrant, spruces up your sand bed

Zoas - colors, colors, colors

RFAs - see above

BTAs - movement, colors, and cheeky to boot

Montis - great growth patterns across the board

Stylos/birdsnests/anacropora - nice sticks, easy to grow

Pavona - when they get to colony size, so impressive

Trachys - meaty, cool corals that get more and more impressive as they grow

Clove polyps - yes, even cloves are great, giving movement and color

Toadstools/leathers - size, presence, now that I have them, seems like a staple

Pink Nepthea - elegance and grace in a coral

Caulastrea - colonies have such a great appearance.

Pectinia - super interesting growth patterns, vibrant colors

Acans - meaty and colorful

Blastos - see above

Alveopora/gonis - like underwater flowers, great movement

GSP - everyone that sees your tank will be immediately drawn to this expert coral

Xenia - yes, even xenia. Mesmerizing movement.
