So, I am using t5 on my 90 gallon, aquamax prism 2 led t5 mix on my 55. I am building a 40 breeder frag tank and purchased the viparspectra 165 led for the build. What is your lighting and are you happy with your setup?

Currently: Fluval Marine Nano's (think using multiples of these is better than fluval's bar light options, more LEDs and wattage per square foot if I am not mistaken), Nicrew 30w pendant, and home depot "Color Casters".

Previously I have used T5s and liked them, but my fixture only had 2 bulbs and I think I would have preferred a 4 bulb fixture for more customization.

The Fluval Nanos are great assuming the tank isn't too deep or wide, I have used them on 20Ls and a 29 standard to good effect.

The Nicrew is good so far. It is very much a pendant and it's light is very directional/not a lot of spread. That said it is great over a nano tank.

The "Color Casters" are umm a work in progress haha In theory they can work and I am setting out to prove that (or fail miserably)

I run the t5/led combro too, with kessils its almost a must but it looks pretty good too.

I just switched from Viparspectra to Reefi-Labs uno 2.0. In my prior set up I ran a pair of VS 165watt flanking a VS 300watt over top my 8 foot tank on a custom aluminum frame I had made.

I am extremely pleased with my Reefi lights!! I am really happy with the fact that the Reefi have a lot less white/red spectrum, and more Yellow and Green this has slowed my nuisance algae down a lot. And the Color Pop, well you can see that in the pictures, though it looks way better in person! 20230619_063004[1].jpg

I was a die hard T5 gal but was forced to make a change when I could no longer find 30" bulbs for my Coralife quad. I could have downsized the fixture to 24" but knew I would not be happy with how it looked on the tank or the coverage so I researched LEDs.
The whole idea of even trying to program 6 color channels at differing intensities for every hour of the day almost caused me to break out in hives, LOL. I am old school and not very techy.
Anyway I settled on the ReefBreeder Photon V-24 and it was surprisingly a major upgrade. Yes, programming it was a challenge but I got it done. It looks so much lower profile hanging above the tank than the Coralife fixture. Also since I hung it at 14-16" off the water, it is wonderful to work in the tank with the lights on. It is great not needing timers to plug the white and blue bulbs to come on at different times, and when the power goes off the LEDs automatically reset to the time of day it is. In every way I prefer this fixture to the one I use to have.

Hamilton Cebu, 2 x 250w Radium's with 4 ATI T 5s. Very happy with it. No more disco ball and shimmer for days.

Love my reefi!

I run 4 Radion gen5 blue's and 1 Quanta blue bar on my 80g growout.
5 16hds on my 45 frag tank,1 is in the sump.
2 16hds on my 30g remote.
1 NP K7 V3 on my 20g nano.
Been running the Radions and 16's for 1.5 years now.
All of them grow coral well.

Love my Reefbreeders.com Photon Pro 48 " LED. Great coral growth. Was using 4 Kessil's before but this is so much better.
