What kind of lighting for corals?

LED's...save energy and heat costs, you don't have to buy 700 dollar radions

check out reefbreeders and used fixtures

I switched from 250 watt MH's to 3 radion pro LEDs. Grew tired of needing a chiller and replacing bulbs every 6-8 months. The flexibility to customize your lighting schedule is awesome! I run at 12000k for most of the photoperiod at only 35% brightness and get great Acro growth without frying my LPS!

Well said...

I am leaning more towards LEDs but I don't know much about the needed wattage. My tank is 7ftx2ftx2ft and im having a hard time finding fixtures that will span that length. Also on one of the sites I see that you can get different degrees of optics, I know nothing about this either :( LUMENTEK PRO 120 - Reef Radiance I was looking at this site but don't know which light would be best suited for my tank, the 120, 180, or 240? Also looking at this site AquaticLife 1W LED Expandable Marine Fixtures | LED Aquarium Lighting any thoughts on these?

Check out the ATI LED Powermodule. Best of T5 and LED, and all programable. You can also mimic different T5 bulb colors with presets on the LEDs. I'm really enjoying this light and what little corals I have in my tank have rebounded in color. You still get the sparkle, but also the coverage. I have a 48" 4x 48w T5 and 3x75w LED cluster's on a 60x30x24.

I'm just going to through out there the Illumination SolBlue with controller. No need for a chiller and my tank is doing well.
