What LEDS do you use?

These have been met with a heap of criticism. About the same time that these were released, lighting vendors started selling lamp post bulbs that were identical to these units.

Additionally, I remember them being incredibly yellow (i.e. perhaps not designed for aquarium use). Long story short, it appears this was a case of someone repurposing it for the aquarium trade. Someone designing this for reefkeeping would never have chosen to use a single kind of emitter in that fashion.

thanks for the input. thats what I was looking for.

WOW I got my leds today and A what difference!!!!! It really makes your corals POP!!! It looks like a whole new tank of corals!!!!

thanks for the help guys,

Mike

No worries! Glad u like them. Wait to u see the nano I just setup. All LPS and LEDs + Radium. NASTY!!!!

Does anyone have more information on these Tullio Del Aquila LED bulbs? They look similar to the offerings that I saw on www.AquariumLED.com --- seems respectable, but does need actinics. I'd like to review some real data! Why were they criticized?

The LED bulb that Steve @ aquariumled.com sells are more white than the ones from Tullio. I've had the on from Tullio and it's fairly yellow and I've seen the one from Steve and it's more in the 10k range and he has successfully been able to keep SPS under it.
If it was me, I'd get then from Steve. I know him personally.

Guys with the Current Powerbrites...

Chris/Mike/anyone with Powerbrites... could these be used for moonlights as well as supplementation?

Say, I run 4 of them during the day for supp... at night is it feasible to leave one on for moonlights, or are they way too bright IYO?

I run them for moonlights and to just give the coral a little extra pop.
