What Nitrates level is this?

At some point I would ditch the API test kits and get Salifert or Hannah. Down the road you will likely need to rely on solid test results that you can trust.

I have a 7ft - 210g what must have been in the 200-300 nitrates range. I cut back on the feeding and did four 60g water changes over a two week period and finally got it to register in the 160 range with API tester  A few more 60g water changes and the Hanna checker could finally measure it around 70! The only thing I have in the tank are softies and none seem effected, the fish are happy and thriving (except being feed less) including a copperband. I finally got it down in the 40-50s!!!!!

i have? dont i have to wait until my nitrates drop? i’m going to do a 20% water change tomorrow
Yes if you have 0 ammonia and 0 nitrite your cycle is complete and ready for fish. Nitrates don’t go down on its own you need to do a hefty water change to bring it down

That is (already) going to be quite a tank.
