What should I do?

My son got into my sump area and added bacterial infection remedy and parasite remedy by squeezing them into the sump. I don’t know how much was added but I did just do a 30% water change on my 225g aquarium. Pictures of what he added are posted.

User note typically I keep the sump area locked but I guess I forgot.

First things first I would add carbon to try and absorb it as much as possible. You're heading in the right direction with WCs. I'm not familiar with those products enough to expand on a more targeted approach.

They seem to be more herbal based, do they have any active medical ingredients?? If not I probably wouldn't worry a bunch.

A bit about my current set up, I have a 75wuv pumping about 1,000gph total flow for it’s self. The tank is 1200gph and I have an MP40 running at about 25 percent speed flow.

Inhabitants:
Fish:
1 Hippo tang
1 yellow tang
1 scooter blenny
1 coral beauty angel
4 clowns
2 green spotted puffers
2 mandarin goby

Invertebrates
Few snails
Few hermit crabs
2 crabs
1 feather duster<hitched a ride I guess

No corals except this white sponge growth I got going.

I couldn’t find what’s in those products except claims that they contain natural remedies. If there are ingredients listed on the bottle please post.

If no chemicals, I think your biggest risk is O2 depletion. I would point your mp40 to the surface and increase water movement as much as possible. Watch for any water clouding or fish lethargy, labored breathing...

Have some more water ready to change and add carbon. In case things deteriorate fast you may dose some 3% hydrogen peroxide to help oxygenate the water.

I think having read the label, it does mention split doses if you have invertebrates but fortunately you don’t have a full reef tank so hopefully any damage will be limited. And you don’t mention how much went in.

If it were me, and think as already suggested, I would run plenty of activated carbon immediately and start the 60g water change you have ready as well. Bottom line this is only going to help the situation and not do any harm and should certainly also help with your water change schedule as well!

And then get some more water ready to do another one if needed.

And the amounts added were not that much, I caught him in the beginning, my parasite was almost gone any ways so I doubt he got much in there and my bacterial is still relatively full. Camera has him in there for apox maybe all of a 30 sec.

What is the 'recommended' full dose for a 225 gallon aquarium?
How much 'product' do you estimate he put in - a whole bottle, 1/2 etc?

EDIT - just saw your post above. I personally would not do anything UNLESS there is something on the bottle that suggests that he 'overdosed' OR if there are any inhabitants in your tank that the bottle says 'not to use' with. I'm not sure how you could get cloudy water in a tank that large because of those products. (they are supposed to kill bacteria - not cause a bloom)?

the product contains: Eucalyptus Oil and Neem Oil are the two active herbals in the bacterial herbal product. For the parasite remedy we use Neem Oil and Tagettes Oil.

The tank today is clear as ever. All my
Water parameters are stable. Within an hr the tank got cloudy don’t know why....I had done a 30% water change right after so I’m wondering if the cloudy was because of salt mix and not being mixed well in the bucket. (First time that’s happened)

My FX6 I think saved the day, I crammed packed that to the gills with carbon and hit the on button. It’s kind of funny, a sump for the tank and a canister for the sump. Worked out well, with in a few hrs my tank had cleared up. No fish loss no loss at all.

I looked at this and I looked at my bottle of copper. I looked back at the post and said what are they smoking lol. I ignored this in result of thinking spelling may have been an issue but my wife got a good laugh at it. All she saw was her husband looking at the bottle of copper back at the post, back to the copper, back to the post and finally saying what the heck are they smoking....I had a good laugh though.
