I was wondering today what skimmer you all currently use and what you think about it.

Make and Model?

Vertex Alpha 300, love it. Only down side is the amount of space that it requires.

Super Reef Octopus SSS3000-Int and LOVE it. Doesn't take up a ton of space since the pump is inside the skimmer.

Also running a Super Reef Octopus 1000int on my quarantine tank and it does a great job as well.

Atb 1050a it's a solid skimmer. Pulls a good amount of gunk out when dialed in. Fairly easy to get wet or dry skimmate. But as I become more knowledgable I feel that a skimmer is only a small portion of nutrient control.

Corallife 125 super skimmer. It does a ok job of pulling stuff out but it is very picky. For a cheap skimmer it is good but add any oily foods and it goes crazy and flood your floor.

Warner Marine R200-2 Twin recirculating, incredible performance and super simple maintenance.

Skimz sk181. I love the gate valve and how easy it is to make small adjustment. The fact that it doesn't have a huge footprint and works wells are pluses too.

Bubble Magus NAC5E, still cycling so haven't been able to see it work with life in the tank, but it has already been pulling stuff from the water. Had some issues when trying to set it up, but hopefully it will measure up to what I have read what others have said about it.

Just upgraded to a bubble king 180 this week, from a bubble magus nac7. Both skimmers are great.

Using SWC 160 Cone. An occasional pump start up issue but solid once you find the sweet spot.

Bubble King, Built like a tank and fell in love with its performance so I have never bothered to look at another one.

My reef creations mr 2. Seems to get the job done good. Have been considering getting something a little more energy efficient. I have a mag 18 running it. Wouldn't mind having a nice cone skimmer. They look nice, just haven't made up my mind which one I want.

ATB 840 at home. At the shop, Octopus xp2000, 2x Vertex alpha 250, bubble king 250, and a vertex in100.

We have 2 skimmers running on our system. A Super Reef Octopus 6000sss internal and a Deltec AP851.
The SRO is a beast and has left the Deltec in the dust (sorry Mike).

Super Reef Octopus 5000int. I've had great luck with it. Pulls crap like mad. For the price and performance they are hard to beat IMO.
