I have the sea side aquatics cs1 or cs7 whatever its called now. I use it on my 75 gallon plus about 25 gallons in he sump. It works great. This works best in deeper sumps, 8"-10"
Another one is the Super reef octopus 1000INT. Its a good one, just a do a mod to it to fix the water from splashing. This needs to be placed in shallow water, thats another downfall of the skimmer. I dont know how deep you will have the water in the chamber of the sump. It needs to be in about 5.5 to 6" of water
There are several good ones but personally I look for the following:
- Low noise
- semi-Dry skimming
- insensitive to water heights
- low footprint.
considering all of the above, I like Tunze skimmers.
I run a bubble magus NAC 6 on my 90g, total of 110g w/ sump. I have a small bio load and it pulls out so much junk. It's like I never had a skimmed before this one.
If it is a RO , make sure to check the skimmers running depth compared to what u have n ur good to go .
Eg : some may fit but once at the running depth u raised the skimmer n now u can't get the cup off or u have clearance issues .
I have a reef Octopus and I love it, it's not as super expensive model, just the nwb150 but its a real work horse, once I dialed it in I haven't had to adjust it at all. So ya, reef Octo is the way to go, good choice bro.
