Hi there Is It stationary. Why I ask Is that one evening when feeding my fish I often give a bit of lance fish to my red star fish. He was happily manuvering the piece of fish when this pink jelly "thing" came out from under a rock and climbed on to the star to get at the lance fish. The red star dropped the fish and couldn't get out the way quick enough. He wasn't happy. the jelly slid back under the rock. It was creepy. I only saw it for a few seconds but it was very flat and pink. No obvious head etc. But your pic put me in mind of it.

One thing that I think everyone isn't catching is that the orange stripes are just that. Stripes. Looking closely and from the side the orange does not extend totally through the body and is just on the surface.

From the picture it appears the orange is a tube that extends to the rock surrounded by gelatinous mass. But again, you took the picture out of water and after you dipped. The structure will look different. It's collapsed in on itself if that makes sense. Just a thought.

No the orange is just a coloration of the gelatinous mass. It is actually under the surface of the mass. And the orange color is showing through

It does not move. And must be a fast grower because it grew over a few of the palys
