what the heck is this?

Tbf i will be upgrading soon so if it is in the sand and not been seen since this post i should be fine?

I would get rid of it, I just found the same thing in my tank but it was huge, the final draw was when I found it had uprooted and drug my rock nem to it hole and was eating it, the nem was still alive and moving when I found it but dead and half eaten when I finally got the worm and nem out of there. after missing mushrooms, zoas and a chewed on candycane it all made sense. Mine stretched out was 2 - 3 feet and 1/2 in around.

That's huge! Do you have pictures?

yep, I was going to post it but didn't have it on the computer I was on. This is in a 5 gallon barrel and the next morning so it is dead the half eaten anemone is next to it. It was even longer when it was alive and stretched across the back of my tank. If you can find it's hole use a hose and run your top off water into it and it will vacate where it is and you can grab it with tongs.
