What type of algae is this? Going crazy!

I'm still using reef crystals as I have since I started in the hobby but I've thought about that as well. Thinking about trying some tropic marin but at almost double the cost, it's hard to justify when I can't pinpoint a problem. I did use a 10g sample of regular tropic marin I got at MACNA on my last water change and I noticed it mixed much better.
I will retest tomorrow and post results. I've recently turned down my pumps to see if I could get better PE from my Zoas but I just setup a profile in my reef link that's going to start blasting the tank tomorrow. Flow is something that I have plenty of.

I have this same stuff in my tank and I'm leaning heavily twards it being caused by carbon dosing. I've been dosing nopox and it worked well initially but then I started getting this stuff all over my tank. I think it may be bacterial. Unfortunately I have no clue how to get rid of it. I'm going to be changing tanks soon at which point I will be scrubbing everything down and relying more on an oversized skimmer and a fuge for nutrient export.

I've found that I switch between a few salts as to what on sale, but I only buy the same few salts: omega reef, red sea cps, and coralife salt.. Surprisingly coralife gave me lower mag cal alk but was cleaner as in less phos nitrate nitrite.. And the coral pro and omega reef were slightly dirtier phos nitrate nitrite but gives me higher mag alk cal..
I mostly use omega reef as the couple places I go to always have it in Stock and it's only 60$/180g .. It tests right around 11 all 470 cal and 1260-1300 mag every single. And it never leaves any films or anything.. When mixed dissolves in minutes to crystal clear water!

I think I agree with you. I'm wondering if just taking the pellets offline and continuing the large water changes would work.
I forgot to mention that I started using a zeo product called bio-mate. Supposed to help with the mulm deposit on the rocks. I didn't believe it would work, but it was worth a shot. I'm on week 2. It hasn't been growing back as thick but I'm not sure if that's because of this product of the water changes I am doing.

Also, I can confirm this issue is photosynthetically driven. I have the same rock I used in the display in my planned fuge. I haven't put a light on it yet and that rock doesn't have a speck of this stuff on it. It's some sort of autotroph.
