First ever was gsp years ago in another reef we had. Thank God we don't have any in this reef. This time it was some zoas, a favia n acan still have em all from first corals purchase for this reef.

A 1/4 lb rock full of dragon eyes/whamming watermelons I bought from petco for $39.99 (which I thought was a steal at that time). They were even kind enough to provide me with a couple of zoa eating nudibranches , a free glass anemone (aptasia), and some bristle worms.

Small rock of green polyps from petco 19.99 thought that was a deal. Now i can get nice millis for that price. Love fourms they save you money!!

this is my little buddy

the entire colony, skeleton etc is produced in my vase its not the parent frag, that's been broken off long ago during tank work and various stings/losses from attacking corals (I don't work with much room)

16 yrs growth of b merletti 100% pico reef produced biomass here. not striking colors, but it used to be we kept corals and watched them wither away in picos, not fatten em up

each of my youtube vids going back to 06 shows the colony as well and before that its web pics on the common forums

16 years that's crazy!

How long did you have it for?
That first pic was from late 2012, and it is still going.. See if I can get a pic tomorrow when the lights come on you can see the new growth better. Has a ton a baby heads sprouting of the skeleton.

I have one thats doing the same, sprouting a bunch baby heads...thing is I feel like it's taking forever for them to get big?..this is my first hammer and it's only one head.

Here's my first, purchased in May 2015.
This picture was just taken, it's doubled in size over those seven months.

(Polyphillia Talpina) also known as a Plate Coral.

My first piece of coral came with the tank that I bought of a guy from the classifieds. It was a tank with only live rock and (what I thought at the time) this one little beautiful piece of coral.

No I don't have that specific piece any longer. But have had several just like it throughout the years :)

Yes the baby heads take forever to form their skeleton. :) you will probably see more noticeable growth from the heads splitting at first, at least that's what I saw. Though, I have a pistol shrimp that moved it more when it was smaller and the baby heads tended not to make it..
